He is all about the music and is aiming for the top in the hip hop and R&B music industry.
Since the GCN last spoke to Tanaka Nyoni (17) aka Miclocx in October last year (GCN, October 14), the youngster has been extremely busy improving his music career.
A Grade 11 learner at Germiston High School, Miclocx had the opportunity of working with Elmaze, an artist from the Congo, in June.
“He came to South Africa and gave me a call and we did a song together called Don’t Go,” said Miclocx.
“It was quite a challenge for me because, although I have made 15 songs so far, I had never written a song about love before.
“We both worked on the chorus and then wrote different verses.”
The song has been released as a single and is available on SoundCloud and DataFileHost.
“We are going to try and get the song listed for radio play and shoot a music video,” Miclocx said.
The youngster has also just shot a music video for his collaboration song with Wolf entitled, All the Way.
The video was shot at Carnival City.
He has released a mixed tape featuring eight songs and said he was thrilled when DJ Speedster, an international DJ, commented that he liked the tape.
“At the beginning of July, I also did three gigs in one night, which was really hectic but enjoyable,” he said.
“The gigs took place in Leondale, Germiston and Sandton.”
Miclocx is busy working on another mixed tape entitled Mic Time. It features 10 songs and is set for release in February next year.

“While all this is going on I am also featuring on other people’s albums,” Miclocx said.
During the week Miclocx knows to concentrate on his school work and then on the weekends, he develops his music.
“The teachers at school have been incredibly supportive and it feels good to know I have their support.
“It inspires me to work even harder.
“My friends are also supportive and help me where they can.
“In fact my best friend Lucky Motaung works as my DJ at gigs and it makes the whole scene so much better when you get to make music with your best friend.”
Miclocx is looking forward to a big gig on September 1, at the iKageleng Stadium in the North West Province.
He will share the stage with top names in the industry.
“This will not only be the first time I perform outside Gauteng, but also my first stadium performance and I am extremely excited,” he said.
“I am transforming my sound and am even better than before.”
