A blues rock duo with a difference
Blues rock duo to wow crowds at BenRock.
Winston Slide was born in January, last year, and has gone from strength to strength ever since, grabbing the attention of audiences, young and old.
The band’s name comes from a packet of Winston cigarettes which slides out on the side.
The Benoni-based duo consists of Damian Kruger on guitar and Julian Guillot on vocals.
Their influences range from classic Chuck Berry to Muddy Waters and they add their own unique twist to the mix.
“If you close your eyes and listen to Winston Slide you would think you are in a smoky bar in New Orleans,” said a spectator at one of their recent gigs.
Catch Winston Slide live at the BenRock Fest on May 6 at The Beer Co and Runway Beach Bar, situated in Dakota Crescent, near Rand Airport.
