Born to rock with BenRock

Don’t miss out on BenRock set to take to the stage soon.

Something exciting is coming to town, so get ready to rock.

What is it? A rocking good day of music called BenRock.

BenRock is the brainchild of two Benoni bands that was conceived in late 2015 – by the end of January last year, The Burning and Monkey Finger had performed at the first show which was a great success.

The inaugural event was held at Old Benonians Football Club and it was attended by nearly 500 people.

As the popularity of BenRock grew, the organisers saw the need to showcase more bands who have the same drive and dedication to local music and thus a bigger venue was required – BenRock is managed by the bands for the bands and aims to placate the already rock music starved local community.

BenRock is set to take place in Germiston on May 6 at The Beer Co and Runway Beach Bar, situated in Dakota Crescent, near Rand Airport.

The venue is the ideal environment for the magic that is good ol’ rock ’n roll.

There is a diverse group of musicians performing at the show and it promises to be a musical treat for the whole family – from a beautiful acoustic performance and classic blues rock, to interesting instrumentals and the finale of hard and heavy rock.

The proceeds from the show go directly to the artists and a small entrance fee will be charged, with children under 12 free.

Tickets will be available at the door.

There will be plenty of parking and icy cold beverages available to quench any thirst and the bands and musicians are looking forward to seeing you there.

Patrons to the event can look forward to seeing Anubis, Kings of Improg (KOI), Lauren Wanda, Monkey Finger, The Burning, The Color Blew and Winston Slide.

BenRock kicks off at noon until late.
