The Sweet Resistance burst onto the local music scene with the launch of its debut album, “Where there is Hope” at two sold out Cape Town shows in September and October, last year.

Since their launch, the likes of 5FM, Mix FM, MFM, PukFM and Kovsie FM and more have all chosen to playlist the band’s debut single “Feel”. 5FM rated the track as SA’s hottest track in its first week of release.

The album, the culmination of eight months of behind the scenes work with renowned engineer/producer, Brendyn “Rusti” Rossouw from Heritage Sound Studios, is a spectacular selection of rhythmic, melodic anthems that plumb the depths of life, love, opportunity and release.

The band’s Gauteng fans will be treated to live performances of songs from the album at Rock on the Lawns.

The event, brought to Gauteng by AMP Events in collaboration with Carnival City, takes place on Carnival City’s sprawling Festival Lawns which perfectly caters for large-scale music festivals.

According to Carnival City’s marketing manager, Michelle Smith, tickets to Rock on the Lawns are selling fast.

“We have a limited number of tickets still available for the Rock on the Lawns event which features a killer line up of awesome South African bands, headlined by the Pixies,” she said.
