Miss SA finalists to take part in swimsuit photo shoot

A coup for the Miss SA brand as one finalist has the chance to appear in this year’s World Swimsuit edition.

The Miss South Africa 2016 contestants will be taking part in a photo shoot for World Swimsuit South Africa later this month with one finalist earning a coveted place amongst the legendary World Swimsuit models in the pages of this year’s swimsuit edition.

She will win a four-page spread and R20 000 in cash, courtesy of Sun International and Cell C.

The winner will be announced during the Miss South Africa Pageant at Carnival City on March 19, which will be broadcast live on M-Net and Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161) in a two-hour not-to-be-missed spectacular.

The World Swimsuit South Africa shoot takes place in Cape Town on February 18 and 19 with acclaimed photographer Jacques Meyers.

The SA Swimsuit issue, a recognised brand within the modeling industry, was incorporated into the global World Swimsuit (WS) brand in 2014 and includes an international model search and a WS YouTube Channel.

Netsport Media has helped launch some of the most recognised faces in the industry including Bar Rafaela, Xenia Deli, and Sarah Stephens, Samantha Hopes and Solveig Mork as well as some of South Africa’s biggest exports such as Candice Swanepoel, Genevieve Morton, Dominique Pike and Jessica Buchanan.

Sun International’s public relations manager Claudia Henkel said, “This is a coup for the Miss South Africa brand and a huge opportunity for the 12 Miss South Africa finalists and the winner, who will get her own four-page spread.”

Aretha Cars well, co-founder of World Swimsuit South Africa and managing director of Netsport Media said, “We love young women who are easy in their skin.

“We are not looking for perfection but prefer girls who are beautiful in a fresh, wholesome and effortless way.

“Our audience wants to relate to them, and it is important that women in particular identify with the models we choose – healthy looking, fit, curvaceous bodies contrary to the perception that all models must be skinny or rake thin.”
