Stage set for the Clap n Tap Awards

Indigenous traditional gospel musicians to be honoured.

The metro is set to host the indigenous traditional gospel music awards – the Mmino Wa Clap n Tap Awards.

The event takes place at 11am, on June 27, at Emperors Palace.

The venue is expected to be abuzz with the melodious harmonies of well-known “clap n tap” choristers such as Barorisi Ba Morena, Jerusalema Encha, Sefofane, Majalefa and many more.

The “clap n tap” music genre has grown in leaps and bounds in popularity within the traditional gospel music industry following a successful recording period and sky rocketing record sales during the 1980s.

The awards ceremony will now reward greatness in various categories such as the best choristers, promoter, conductor, television programme, print media, radio station and best supporters of this music genre.
