Celebrate St Patrick’s Day with veteran band Ballyhoo

Great music in store at Carnival City.

Veteran music ensemble, Ballyhoo, is back at Carnival City, on March 14, as part of the festive St Patrick’s Day celebrations.

They are set to rock the Carnival City Show Bar with their infectious energy and entertaining array of songs from the 1960s to now.

“We are excited to welcome Ballyhoo back to our stage,” said Michelle Smith, the marketing manager for Carnival City.

“It has been a while since their last show here and we look forward to an evening of great music and entertainment, Ballyhoo style.”

The band originated in Ireland but has become a household name in South Africa for their smash hit “Man on the Moon”, which took them to the top of the charts in 1981, and is still going strong.

Other songs, for which they are still remembered, are “Air Incident”, “Rock ‘n Roll Party”, “Mama Microphone”, and “Don’t You Go Walking”, to mention but a few.

Collectively Ballyhoo holds a wealth of experience, which forms the foundation of one of the most dedicated and determined bands around today.

Since the band’s emergence in the late 1970s, they have travelled extensively throughout Africa, Europe and Asia, performing at private and corporate functions, music festivals and parties.

Ballyhoo will perform at the Show Bar from 9pm.

There is an entrance fee which includes a complimentary welcome drink.
