Don’t miss the spectacular Garden of Lights

Emperors Palace lights up Ekurhuleni skies this December.

The City of Ekurhuleni and Emperors Palace are once again hosting the spellbinding Garden of Lights until January 4.

Introduced in 2007, the mesmerising Garden of Lights has welcomed more than 800 000 visitors and boasts over 200 character light displays and 100s of kilometres of lighting.

Months of planning and a dedicated team are just some of the festive ingredients needed to create this spectacular affair where more than 140 000 visitors are expected to enjoy the 2014 Garden of Lights.

Even bigger and better, this year’s Garden of Lights will also host Happyland, a funfair filled with fun rotating cars, the epic Tilt-a-Whirl, the one of a kind Rotor and everyone’s favourite family ride, Jump and Smile.

A Ferris wheel at the entrance of the garden provides the most incredible views of the Garden of Lights and younger guests will be entertained on the Runaway Train, Boat Ride and Cartoon Cars at the Freeway Fantasy area.

Let the family take a stroll through the beautifully decorated garden of the 5-star D’oreale Grande Hotel while the little ones meet Santa, his helpers and other festive characters along the way.

The Garden of Lights is the perfect opportunity to treat the family and is the best way to see, touch and experience the holidays.

Best of all, entrance is free of charge.

Bring sunshine into the lives of those less fortunate by donating toys for Reach for a Dream and “back to school” goodies for a local Ekurhuleni charity, with collection bins located in and around the Entertainment Emporium, and at the Garden of Lights entrance.

The Garden of the Lights, a massive annual holiday event, will take place from 7pm to 10pm, weather permitting.

In the event of cloudy and rainy weather, contact 011 928-1000 to enquire if the Garden of Lights will be open.
