Afrikaans music celebrated

Calling all fans of Afrikaans music.

The enormously popular Afrikaanse Musiekfees comes to the Big Top Arena at Carnival City for the 12th time on July 27.

Afrikaanse Musiekfees 12 will feature favourite established artists, as well as fresh new performing talent in a spectacular show that salutes the best in Afrikaans music.

The line-up will be headed by the talented Chris Chameleon; pianist and composer Rocco de Villiers; the rich baritone of Tobi Jooste; bubbly blonde singer Karlien Husselman; vocalist and song-writer Dirk van der Westhuizen; the dynamic and versatile vocalist Lee Scott; and the young 14-year-old songstress Liefste Kayla.

Over the past 12 years of Afrikaanse Musiekfees, some 200 artists have entertained more than 35 000 people and this year’s show promises to be a cracker.
