Women’s Baseball Series marks historic event for sport

This series marked a significant moment in baseball history.

The success of the Women’s Baseball Series at the Cardinals Baseball Club from August 23 to 25 emphasised the growth of the sport for female participants.

This event featured the senior and U18 women’s teams competing against their counterparts from Zimbabwe, marking a significant moment in SA baseball history.

On the final day of the series, the South African U18 women put up a good performance to secure a 21-0 victory over Zimbabwe.

The senior South African women also had a good day at the office by beating Zimbabwe 19-14.

U18 SA players Mia Cloete, Zoe Pestana, Aliya Oliver and Courtney Campbell.

This match highlighted that the women who represented our country played with determination, and their hard work had borne fruit.

There was certainly no shortage of gees at the series when supporters came out to enjoy the event and got behind the athletes throughout the series.
