The GETA U13 team finished 13th during the interprovincial championships in Pretoria from August 9 to 11.
McRae said she was proud of how the team played.

“We had a tough round-robin group but managed to pull off one win out of three games.

“The eventual winners, Free State, were in our group and we managed to get 11 points off them, no mean feat,” said McRae.

“With half a team of first-time players, we are super proud of all our players for sticking it out for three tough, hot days of tennis. With an amazing sponsorship from Puma and Baseline Racquets for the girls’ kit, the team looked very smart”.

GETA will host the interprovincials primary and high schools trials from September 6 to 8.
