Local learner dominates Gauteng school championships

Her coach Sibeko said she is humble and eager to learn something new in training.

Kayleigh Foster of Wit Deep Primary School has recently been awarded as the senior victrix ludorum, marking her second win of this prestigious accolade, having first earned it as a junior.
Additionally, she received several sporting certificates in recognition of her achievements.
Besides the senior victrix ludorum, Foster received three certificates for her six years of participation in athletics, three years in netball, and her performances in the Gauteng Schools Championships.
At just 13 years old, Foster has captained her school netball team for three consecutive years and has earned multiple academic accolades, including top achiever awards in her class and grade.
A resident of Boksburg, Foster trains at Germiston Stadium under the guidance of Thulani Sibeko from the Thulani Sibeko Training Group.
Her athletic journey began in preschool, and despite a leg injury sustained during a netball match, she has excelled in 100m and 200m sprints.
“I have been with my coach for four years and have seen significant improvements in my performance.
“We are currently preparing for the Central Gauteng Athletics Sub-Youth Championships,” Foster said.
Her mother, Clarissa Foster, is her biggest supporter, attributing her daughter's athletic prowess to their family lineage.
Coach Thulani Sibeko praised Foster for her humility and eagerness to learn.
“She is one of the most promising athletes in my group. I am confident we will achieve podium positions at the Sub-Youth Championships,” Sibeko remarked.
