Raptors win big at competitions

"We couldn't be prouder of our Raptors that competed like true warriors. Our coaches are proud that our hard work over the last year has paid off," said Debbie Bensch.

The Primrose Raptors Wrestling Club achieved notable success at the Johnnie Reitz Tournament held on August 3 at LC de Villiers Stadium, University of Pretoria.

The tournament, which set a record with 910 entries, saw wrestlers from across the globe, including competitors from Namibia and Egypt, showcasing their skills.

Representing the club were 15 wrestlers, who delivered impressive results with a haul of four gold, four silver, two bronze, and three fourth-place finishes.

“We couldn’t be prouder of our Raptors, who competed like true warriors. Our coaches are thrilled that our hard work over the past year has paid off,” said Debbie Bensch.

The medalists from the Primrose Raptors are as follows:

Claudia Probst: gold in U6 freestyle

Leane Vorster: silver in U6 freestyle 18-19.3kg

Tiaan Cronje: fourth in U8 freestyle 21.2-23.3kg

Dante Bensch: silver in U8 freestyle 26-28.4kg

Chloe Cronje: gold in U11 female freestyle
