Lions roar for Heritage Day victory
Played in a round robin style it saw the clubs bring their all as they competed for the Ekurhuleni’s senior’s title.
Edenvale Lions Basketball Academy walked away victorious after a Heritage Day tournament was held from September 23 to 24 at the academy’s home court at Edenvale sports grounds.
It saw teams such as the Wattville Watts, Scorpions, Royal Russel’s and hosts ELBA compete.
The co-founder and coach of ELBA, Edson Makavan, said the event went well.

Played in a round robin style it saw the clubs bring their A-game as they competed for Ekurhuleni’s senior’s title.
Despite teams giving it their best, the title was awarded to ELBA’s senior team, the Lions, who are now Ekurhuleni’s 2023 champions of the senior category.
