Tebutt Academy grades their students

Students began with a stretch, warm up and light fitness.

Tebbutts Academy recently held its second gradings that had to be split over two weekends due to the number of students.

The first day of grading was for the beginner belts (white to orange) and the second day was for the intermediate belts (green to purple).

The format of both the gradings remained the same with the biggest difference being intensity of fitness and technicality of kata and forms.

“The students were pushed beyond their physical thresholds and performed at an exceptional high degree.

“Every single person at the grading never gave up,” said kancho Alex Tebbutt.

“The fighting segment began almost immediately. While it is not mandatory for white belts to fight, many had opted to join in the fighting,” said Tebbutt.

The day ended on a high note with all students receiving a pass grade and even some students being awarded a double grade.
