Coulentianos hit the ground running

"For me, it’s selling the whole package of Eastern Cricket and its potential and marketing it to sponsors."

Easterns CEO, Wesley Coulentianos, revealed one of his foremost goals is to get money into the cash-strapped union.

The union hasn’t had a title sponsor in over six years and the CEO has gone full-steam ahead with presentations to various entities to help boost the union’s coffers.

The former Eastern Storm captain is pleading with businesses in the region to advertise their companies on the advertising boards surrounding the Willowmoore Park pitch.

“We haven’t had a naming or title sponsor and any other sponsor of note in over six years. For me, it’s selling the whole package of Eastern Cricket and its potential and marketing it to sponsors.

“One of my definite goals is to get money into the union. With that money, we could reap many benefits,” he said to the Benoni City Times in June.

Coulentianos and the new technical team, led by the experienced and highly successful Geoffrey Toyana, are assisting the Eastern Storm to win the CSA division two title to gain promotion to the first division.

Golf day fundraiser

The union will host a golf day fundraiser for the Eastern Storm on August 17 at Benoni Country Club from 10:30.
It’s a shotgun start IPS for R3 200 per fourball, including green fees, carts, dinner and prize-giving.
