The long-awaited Norkem Festival Soccer and Netball Tournament saw the hosts, Norkem Park Primary School, lifting the trophy in the netball section.

The netball girls met the very challenging Bedfordview Primary in the final, where, after a nail-biting first-half, they clutched a 13 -7 win.
Rekgoikante Manabile, Norkem Park Primary’s goal defence, was also awarded netball player of the tournament.
Bedfordview Primary, however, took the win for soccer when they beat Cresslawn Primary in the final.
Bedfordview was unbeaten throughout the tournament and deserved the ultimate victory as the festival winner.
The three-day festival, which took place recently, hosted around 300 players and coaches from various schools around Gauteng.
