Malverns Jumpers shine at the Ekurhuleni Basketball League

The league will take a break for a few weeks due to school holidays and return on April 9.

The Ekurhuleni Basketball League continued on March 17 after two weeks of delay due to heavy rains.
Germiston City Basketball Club was packed with teams ready to take to the court. Seaparo Ramaube, Germiston City Club’s head coach, said teams arrived early and were ready to grab the opportunity to play.
The Germiston City Wolves showed that they are starting to find their rhythm.
This was evident with the strong performances by Likhona Khumalo, Zola Koom, Sphamandla Mavuso and John Kuti who made sure wins were secured twice on the day in separate games.
Malvern Jumpers were the stars of the day as both their u-19 and u-14 teams performed well and won their games convincingly by 32 and 15 points in separate games.
Bedfordview High School recorded its first wins, showing the partnership with Malvern Jumpers is beneficial.
The Soweto Rising Owls u-14 team picked up the pace and showed itself as a force to be reckoned with.
They also won both their games on the day but the senior team narrowly lost to the Germiston City Wolves by two points.
Leondale Chronix failed to secure a win on the day despite scoring a slam dunk.
The league will resume on April 9.
Those interested to join the league as a team or player may contact Seaparo Ramaube on 061 455 6750.
