Rugby superstar and Olympic medallist Cheslin Kolbe has joined forces with Momentum on his personal journey to success.

Kolbe is known for scoring South Africa’s winning try in the Rugby World Cup 2019 and has a journey to success that defied the odds.

At 1.72m and 80kg he is a South African wing and fullback professional rugby player, currently playing for the South African national team and for Toulouse in the Top 14 in France.

Momentum’s head of marketing, Charlotte Nsubuga-Mukasa, said, “Momentum was drawn to Kolbe because of how he has uniquely defined what success means for him, and how he achieves what he sets out to do, despite the fact that it seemed impossible at times.

“Momentum is a brand that firmly believes in the power of getting the right advice at the life-changing milestones in your life. Right now, Kolbe is at a point in his life where his accomplishments are mounting and his family is growing.

“It is a critical time to get the right advice and we are honoured to be partnering with him to enable the achievement of his financial goals and life aspirations.”

Expressing his excitement over the partnership, Kolbe said, “I know what it feels like to be the underdog. I was always told I was not tall and heavy enough to be a professional rugby player.

“Throughout my life, good advisers crossed my path and I have realised the value of partnering with the right people to reach my goals. That’s why I chose Momentum.

“I want to make sure I invest my earnings in the best possible way, that my family is provided for and that I leave a legacy for my children. I trust Momentum to bring financial expertise into my life, to help me achieve this for myself and my loved ones.”

Carel Bosman, head of sponsorships for Momentum, said, “Successful people know no one person is as strong as a collective. We believe this partnership with Kolbe will provide him with some extra momentum on his already upward trajectory.

“To be his official financial adviser is a privilege that we don’t take lightly. We understand that finances are linked to people’s hopes and dreams for themselves and their families and we are here to enable those financial goals.”
