“I officially declare the opening of the Primrose branch for Mamelodi Sundowns supporters,” said Mohammed.

The launch was attended by Primrose supporters, as well as Titus Baloyi (Primrose Mamelodi Sundowns branch treasurer), John Khosa (Primrose Mamelodi Sundowns branch deputy secretary), Sizeka Shakoane (Primrose Mamelodi Sundowns branch secretary) and Ernest Machimana (Primrose Mamelodi Sundowns branch deputy chairperson).

Mamelodi Sundowns supporters were gathered inside, as well as outside to support the launch.

The supporters were cheering, laughing and dancing throughout the event and Mohammed was extremely proud at the amount of people who attended.

“This is the first time Primrose has had a supporters branch and I am so happy the launch was successful,” said Mohammed.

The event included an inspirational talk from Mma Sebetha, chairperson for the Mamelodi Sundowns Supporters Women’s Forum, who spoke about the forum and how women should be protected against gender-based violence.

The Mamelodi Sundowns Supporters Women’s Forum is a support structure association for all the women who belong to the Mamelodi Sundowns family.

“Sporting events are also a place where women should feel protected from any abuse, which could also happen at a sports event.

“As the chairperson for the Mamelodi Sundowns Supporters Women’s Forum, many women come to us to be protected from different forms of abuse happening to them,” said Sebetha.

Mohammed thanked the members and visitors for coming to the launch.

“I promise, together we can build a better Primrose branch for all,” said Mohammed.

The event ended with a celebration as all the supporters and members danced and sang their way through the streets.
