Tebbutt’s Mixed Martial Arts Academy hosted an in-house tournament to groom great fighters and future referees.

Tebbutt’s Mixed Martial Arts Academy hosted an internal tournament last Saturday to prepare their young karatekas for the big karate stage.

Karatekas from as young as four years old, who currently hold white, yellow and orange belts, were in full uniform, ready for the challenges that lay ahead on the day.

Caleb Wessels proved he was ready for big tournaments on Saturday as he joined young karatekas at Tebbutt’s Mixed Martial Arts Academy in showcasing a variety of fighting styles to win in big karate tournaments.

The students had to first showcase their kata techniques before moving on to their fighting styles, such as musical and traditional weapons.

Mason Mostert showcases his kata moves at the Tebbutt’s Mixed Martial Arts Academy in-house tournament in preparation for future karate tournaments.

The tournament not only tested the fighting skills and endurance of young fighters, but kanchu Alex Tebbutt used this opportunity to train some of his older students in the art of refereeing and scoring a karate match.

Action packed Tebbutt’s Mixed Martial Arts Academy hosts in-house tournament.

“It is important to me for my students to be well-rounded in the art of karate,” said Tebbutt.
“Students who not only know how to fight, but also respect and know the rules of scoring a fight is important.”
