Luso were able to clinch a 2-0 victory in the gruelling match, with second half goals from Hildah Magaia and Matshediso Williams.

The team travelled to Soweto to face Soweto Fabulous on May 5, who were in fine form going into the game.

Luso took control of the game in the early moments, but struggled to create early chances at goal.

“There were also numerous offside calls in favour of the home team, but Linda du Plessis eventually broke the deadlock with a well-taken goal,” said Dylan Wilson on behalf of the club.

Luso’s goalkeeper Yolanda Mphandle made some important saves during the first half to keep the team in front.

The second half saw Luso push Fabulous onto the back foot as they pressed for a second goal.

However, their efforts were defended by the home team’s solid defence and the game ended in 1-0 to Luso.

“This was the team’s fifth consecutive win with the only blemish of the season being their opening game,” said Wilson.
