Annual club championships produce worthy winners

Germiston Golf Club holds successful club championships.

The Germiston Golf Club staged another exciting club championships, last weekend.

Jacolette Mostert, Germiston Golf Club marketing said, “We were pleased that we had minimal impact from the usual late afternoon thunderstorms.

“It was great to have good feedback on the condition of the golf course, as the course staff worked really hard over the last month and we thank Ian Mackintosh and his team.”

Defending champion Donovan Pease once again showed his skill and won the club championships for 2019.

Aubrey Myburgh was the winner in the B-division. He is congratulated by Mandy Gold from Shaya Fire, one of the sponsors of the event.

He showed determination with an eagle on the 16th hole and several birdies, giving him a total overall score of 137.

The club congratulated him on his achievement.

“Congratulations also goes to our junior champion Peter Cambanis, who had a great championship, scoring a 76 on the first day and a 72 on the second day,” said Mostert.

In the ladies’ division, the club’s ladies’ captain Nicolene Cambanis, was crowned the champion, with a total score of 184.

Congratulations also goes to all the other winners including the other division champions, namely, Aubrey Myburgh (B-division), Carlos de Almeida (C-division) and Larry Hyde (Senior division).

The club thanked Shaya Fire and Halsted & Co (Pty) Ltd for sponsoring this year’s club championships.
