With the heavy rains last week Germiston City Football Club’s clash against Zwide FC in the Olympia Pre-Season Tournament was cancelled.
Germiston City returned to action this weekend with a friendly against Sporting FC from Turrfontein.
In a hard-fought match, Sporting beat Germiston City 3-0.

Despite the harsh loss coach Sreten Pavlovic has been happy with the team’s pre-season performance and looks forward to the start of the season next Saturday with an away game against Alberton FC.
The reserve side has also showed a lot of promise in their form, drawing 2-2 when they took on Sporting’s reserve side in an exciting game.
In the club’s junior football division, the u-13 and u-19 teams are well into their pre-season training and new players are welcome.

A development programme has been set up by Pavlovic for juniors from u-6 to 10 years old.
This initiative is to develop players at a young age to hone their football skills and ready them for higher divisions.
Interested players can visit the development sessions on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 8am to 10am.
