Twenty-three young wrestlers from Raptors Wrestling Club took on the best that Eastern Gauteng has to offer in the Eastern Gauteng Hawks League Tournament, in Alberton, recently.
The team shone and were thrilled to bring home eight gold medals, six silver medals and four bronze medals.

“We also managed to win two out of the three trophies up for grabs,” said head coach Dewald de Wet.
“Our u-8s and younger won the Long Term Participants Development (LTPD) Trophy and we shared the tournament’s Spirit Trophy.
“We only just missed out on the Hawks Trophy.”
The win has given the club a boost and they are already working very hard for future tournaments.
“We hope to get a hat trick and bring home all three trophies at future tournaments,” said de Wet.
The club has now turned its focus to the Eastern Gauteng Open Championships, which will be hosted this Saturday.

“The coaches are extremely positive that the team will win various medals at the competition,” said de Wet.
