Fighter ready to showcase his skills at championships

Thunder MMA fighter set to compete in the Extreme Fighting Championships in Weltevreden Park this weekend.

Thunder MMA trained Eric van Rooyen will be competing in the Extreme Fighting Championships this Saturday.

The event will be held at Hyundai in Weltevreden Park in Johannesburg.

Van Rooyen, who began competing in 2012 but has been out of action for a while, will take to the ring fresh off his October win and will showcase his newly evolved fighting style paired with his experience in the hexagon.

The team, made up of Chris le Roux, Tylor Louw, Dylan Gibble, Eric van Rooyen, Martin Meyer and Clint Louw, travelled to Weltevreden Park to take part in the event.

He will face Ben Shelton in the ring.

“Coming up to this fight I feel I am in the best space physically and mentally.

“Thank you to my team for all their effort in helping me prepare for this match and to my coach Pietie Coxen for going the extra mile,” van Rooyen said.

He further thanked Brawl Gear for their sponsorship.
