The Mustangs Rugby League Club played their last match in the Rhino Cup League last Saturday.
The club played host to Tuks Rugby League Club, at the Elspark Sports Complex.
“Unfortunately we did not have enough players to field a team so the official match was cancelled at the last minute and a nine’s match was played instead,” explained Monique Nothnagel, chairperson for the Mustangs.
The match was informal, reduced to 20 minutes a half and no one kept a record of the score.
“We just played for the heck of it,” said Nothnagel.
Despite the informality of the game, Tuks remained the stronger team throughout.
Due to the lack of dedication from the club’s players, the Mustangs will be withdrawing from the league and closing their doors.
