EFC hexagon to see two Germiston fighters compete

Pietie ‘Thunder’ Coxen is itching to face Armand ‘Wanderlei’ Scheepers in the EFC 74 hexagon, while fellow Germiston fighter Igeu Kabesa will headline the event.

Not one but two Germiston fighters will take to the EFC 74 hexagon at Carnival City on Saturday.

Lambton-raised Igeu ‘Smiley’ Kabesa will fight in the 12-bout fight card’s main fight, defending his featherweight title against Scotland’s Calum Murrie.

Kabesa is described as an athletic genius who entered the EFC with an unblemished amateur MMA record and went on a tear in the organisation, winning six lightweight fights in spectacular fashion.

In his seventh EFC fight, he managed the biggest achievement in his martial arts career, capturing the EFC Featherweight World Championship title, beating Scotland’s Danny Henry.

With the defeat of his fellow Scotsman spurring him on, Murrie is hellbent on taking back the featherweight title for Scotland.

A teammate and training partner of former champion Henry, Murrie said, “My team has beaten Kabesa before and I will do it again.

“I will be the EFC featherweight champion.”

Elsburg-based Pietie ‘Thunder’ Coxen will also be competing at the event.

He is ready to get back into the EFC hexagon after his action-packed match against Conrad ‘Cage Wise’ Seabi at EFC 71.
