Mixed bag of results for Luso

Luso Africa FC continued their Eastern Local Football Association’s (ELFA) Super League campaign with an away match against the Kempton Park Football Club.

Luso Africa FC continued their Eastern Local Football Association’s (ELFA) Super League campaign on Saturday when they travelled to Kempton Park to face the Kempton Park Football Club.

The first team, who are still comfortably at the top of the log, looked confident when they took to the field and were quickly rewarded with a goal from Nathen Nel.

Roberto Da Silva added to the score before the break with Luso rarely looking like they were in any danger of conceding a goal.

The second half was much of the same for the visiting team with Da Silva adding two more goals to Luso’s score.

The side’s dominant performance on the field was rewarded one last time with a goal from Liam Jordaan, before Kempton managed to sneak in a goal to end the game 5-1, in Luso’s favour.

The second team had the opposite start to their match against their Kempton opponents after they conceded a goal within the first five minutes of the game after a Kempton striker lost his defender and headed home.

After this blow, the team continued to struggle to take any control of the game and the score stayed 1-0, in the home team’s favour, till the half-time break.

The break seemed to do the team some good and they seemed to find their feet and began to take control of the game.

Despite their best efforts, however, the team was unable to turn their chances at goal into reality.

Moments before the final whistle Kempton managed to sneak another ball into the back of the net ending the match 2-0 in their favour.

The club will host the Benoni Northerns Football Club at Hattingh Park in their next Super League this Saturday.
