Thunder MMA shine at local tournament

Members from Elsburg-based mixed martial arts club Thunder MMA recently competed in the Gauteng Fighting League Tournament.

Elsburg-based mixed martial arts club Thunder MMA recently travelled to Alberton to compete in the Gauteng Fighting League Tournament.

Six young fighters, namely Chris le Roux, Mark Grejosie, Kiara Willemse, Slade de Klerk, Deacon Hall and JC Grobelaar participated in the grappling division at the event, held at the Alberton Wrestling Club.

Their coach, EFC fighter Pietie ‘Thunder’ Coxen, was thrilled with the club’s results.

The club caters for fighters as young as two years old and offers instruction in boxing, fitness, mixed martial arts and wrestling.

Practices are held at the club, located at 45 Parnell Road in Elsburg, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm to 8pm, with children’s practices from 5.30pm to 6pm.
