Luso Africa continued their winning streak with a 3-1 victory over Boksburg Football Club in a home fixture in the Eastern Local Football Association’s (ELFA) Super League, last Saturday.
The match, played at Hattingh Park, means that Luso is comfortably on top of the log, nine points ahead of their closest competition, Randburg Football Club.
Despite the victory, Luso struggled to find their feet and conceded an early goal.
This seemed to be the wake-up call the team needed and they managed to take control of the game and soon were rewarded with a goal from Yannick Beyouma, taking the teams into a 1-1 draw at half-time.
Luso picked up right where they had left off in the second half and soon Beyouma was able to find the back of the net once again.
Igor Ivanov secured the team’s victory with a well-taken header to end the match 3-1 to Luso.
Luso’s second team also dominated their fixture, winning by a convincing 3-0.
Though they started the game slowly, Dylan Willson was able to open the scoring with a goal heading into half-time.
In the second half, the team found new energy and managed to keep better possession of the ball and were rewarded in the early seconds of the half with another goal by Dario Pereira who later went on to score his second goal of the match and Luso’s third.
