Busy week for Luso Africa

Luso Africa FC are ready to tackle the new year.

Luso Africa is ready to tackle 2018 and training and matches are already in full swing.

With the kick-off of the Eastern Local Football Association’s (ELFA) Super League just around the corner, the club’s senior teams will once again be taking part in the Top Eight Tournament.

The pre-season tournament sees the top eight teams, from last season, battling it out in a series of matches.

On Saturday, Luso will travel to Randburg to kick-off the tournament before taking on the other two teams in their group, namely Robertsham Football Club and Olympia Italian Football Club.

In other results:

• The Luso Veterans A team, recently, played a cup match against the Benoni Northerns Football Club.

The physical game was tightly contested, with Neville Stewart securing the 1-0 win for Luso with a well-taken goal.

• The Luso Veterans B team, recently, took on Olympia Italian Football Club.

The exciting game ended in a 4-4 draw, with the teams not giving an inch from the first to the final whistle.

• Luso’s women’s team were recently back in action against Bantwana College FC.

The team showed off the hard work they have been putting in at practice, walking away the winners with an impressive 11-0 score.

Both Bongi Radebe and Alex Michael got hat tricks in the match.

The junior teams (u-6 to u-17) are also getting ready for the season with training starting from February 5.
