Great achievements celebrated by club

Diamond Athletics Club is proud of its athletes’ achievements.

It was time to celebrate at the Diamond Athletics Club on Saturday.

The Albemarle-based club held its year-end prize-giving at the Victoria Lake Club, where it honoured its top achievers for the year.

The club has been running for a decade and is headed up by John and Maria Diamond, with Maria being the head coach.

They specialise in sprints, hurdles and long jump.

The club has about 70 members across three hubs, one in Germiston, one in Kathorus and one in Daveyton.

The athletes from the Germiston-based hub train from Mondays to Thursdays at the Germiston Stadium.

In addition to athletics training, the club also offers biokinetics and physiotherapy to athletes to make sure they perform at their best.

They are in need of either a shuttle to transport athletes to competitions or monetary donations towards purchasing a shuttle.
