Busy week for Luso Africa

Luso Africa Football Club shares its weekly results.

Luso Africa Football Club had a jam-packed week full of fixtures.

The club’s teams won all their matches, except for the veterans’ B side, which puts them on a positive footing as they head into the next set of fixtures.

Results were as follows:

• Luso Africa FC’s women’s side kicked off their season last Monday with a match against Bonaero Football Club.

Luso Africa dominated the match from start to finish. The only goal was scored by Deme Kapatos before the game was ended prematurely because of serious injury to the opposition goalkeeper.

The team walked away with three points for the match.

The women will face Kempton Park Football Club and Bantwana College Football Club this week.

• Luso Africa’s veterans’ A side had a tough game against the Bedfordview Football Club on Wednesday night.

Both teams were evenly matched in the first half with the score remaining 0-0 as they headed into half-time.

However, goals from Paul Raposa, Brent Vos and Mario Ferreira ensured another good win for Luso with a final score of 3-1.

• Luso Africa’s veterans’ B side lost 6-1 to the Olympia Italian Club’s A team.

• Luso Africa’s SAFA Ekurhuleni SAB team played against Ace Auto Ayoba on Friday night in a must-win game as they look to keep Germiston Football Club in touching distance.

Two first-half goals by Sean Strunkheide opened the team’s match and were followed in the second half by another two goals by Strunkheide and one by Donovan Thompson, which then led the team to win the match 5-0.

The team will play an away game against Black Pirates Football Club on Saturday.
