Mustangs suffer defeat

Mustangs Rugby League Club suffers defeat at the hands of Tuks Blue League Club.

As dark storm clouds gathered overhead, the Mustangs Rugby League Club faced the Tuks Blue Rugby League Club for a gruelling afternoon match, on Saturday.

Despite every effort throughout the match, the Mustangs couldn’t get a point on the scoreboard at their home grounds, the Elspark Sports Grounds, and the team went down 48-0 to Tuks Blue.

The physical match played on a very wet pitch seemed to be dominated by the visitors from the onset, with a series of quick passes and charging attacks.

The home team, however, kept the pressure on the visitors and were able to make some strong tackles.

“The game against Tuks Blue was a very tough game.

“I feel that the Mustangs players gave it their best in the cold, rainy weather but unfortunately Tuks played the better game,” said Monique Nothnagel, chairman of the club.

The club sees the match as another great learning experience for a team that is still very new to the league.

The Mustangs will travel to Pretoria this Saturday to take on the Tuks Red Rugby League Club.
