Young Eagles are learning to fly

The Elsburg Eagles took part in a rugby day at Boksburg Rugby Club on Saturday.

The young players from the Elsburg Eagles Rugby Club travelled to the Boksburg Rugby Club, on Saturday, to take on various teams.

“The teams played their hearts out on a thorny field and tried their hardest,” said Joan Rohrbeck, vice-chairman of the Elsburg Eagles Rugby Club.

“It was a successful day out for the teams and we thank all our players, as well as the teams we played against.

“We are proud of our players and well done.”

Special mention is made of the u-18 team as they took on Boksburg in an extremely tough match and the club is proud of the way they played.

The results were:

• u-8: Elsburg lost to Suikerbosrand 1-4.

• u-9: Elsburg lost to Benoni Grizzlies 0-43.

• u-10: Elsburg beat Brakpan 19-17.

• u-13: Elsburg lost to Meyerton 0-53.

• u-18: Elsburg lost to Boksburg 7-22.
