Gear up for the Family Fun Fiesta Walk
Diarise this fun walk and run happening in October.
Germiston Lake will host the Family Fun Fiesta Walk to be held on October 29.
The walk is organised by the Cool Dads Foundation.
The Cool Dads Foundation is a non-profit organisation that facilitates, promotes, educates and supports a culture of positive fatherhood.
The foundation engages with fathers and reminds them of their fundamental responsibilities towards their children and society, among other things.
Germiston families are invited to attend the event which comprises of a 5km and 10km walk and run followed by a family picnic.
All participants will receive a medal, T-shirt and energy drink.
“The purpose of this fun day is to revive young families and create an atmosphere where people from different backgrounds can get together and have a fun-filled day,” said the foundation’s CEO, Bongani Luvalo.
The foundation also aims to raise funds through the fun walk for its “Big Brother” mentorship programme.

The programme focuses on mentoring young boys through camps, workshops, educational trips and career guidance.
Community members or organisations who wish to sponsor the event are welcome to contact Cool Dads Foundation offices.
A children’s play area, cartoon characters, face-painting, braai area and music entertainment will be among the activities at the picnic.
The fun walk and run will start at 7am making way for the picnic at 11am until 5pm.
Entry fees vary for adults, children and groups of 10.
