For the love of the game

The Elsburg Eagles Rugby Club hosted a rugby day on Saturday.

The Elspark Sports Grounds were a hive of activity on Saturday when the Elsburg Eagles Rugby Club held its rugby day.

Teams from throughout the region descended on the club for a day of fun, learning and rugby, of course.

Rugby was the definite winner on the day with players, parents, coaches and referees all celebrating their love for the game.

From the u-5s to the u-18s players took to the field to do their best for their clubs.

The atmosphere was electric with over 85 thrilling matches being played during the course of the day.

The children gained a lot from taking part as the enthusiastic coaches and referees made sure the players learned something new while playing.

The Elsburg Eagles were pleased with the way the day went.

The Elsburg Eagles results are:

  • u-7: Elsburg drew against Benoni 4-4.
  • u-8: Elsburg beat Brakpan 2-1.
  • u-9: Elsburg lost against Brakpan 0-37.
  • u-11: Elsburg lost against Brakpan 0-38.
  • u-13: Elsburg lost against Brakpan 5-10.
  • u-15: Elsburg lost against Vereeniging 7-46.
  • u-18: Elsburg beat Brakpan 14-12.
