Elsburg heads for the semi-finals on a high note

It was a victorious weekend for Elsburg Rugby Club during their weekend match.

Elsburg Rugby Club played a home game against Heidelberg Rugby Club at the Elspark Sports Grounds on Saturday.

Elsburg showed the visitors that they had the home ground advantage and claimed a 71-5 victory.

Although Heidelberg tried their best to match Elsburg’s speed, it was a one-sided affair from the first whistle.

Elsburg gave their opponents no chance to breathe and dominated the entire game.

The local team’s try scorers were Anton van Deventer, Damian Diedericks, Francois Van Wyk, Stephen Phillipson, Johan Janse van Vuuren and Rudie Wessels who also made four conversions and scored one penalty.

Elsburg will be playing in the semi-finals to be held at the Elspark Sports Grounds on Saturday, at 4pm.

The club is yet to find out who they will face in the semi-finals.
