Action-packed all style tournament packs a punch

Tebbutt’s Mixed Martial Arts Academy All Style Competition a success.

It was all systems go at the Tebbutt’s Mixed Martial Arts Academy All Style Competition on Friday and Saturday.

Held at the Primrose Sports Complex, the two-day contest saw exceptional skills shown by all competitors.

Kanchu Alex Tebbutt, the owner of the Lambton-based academy, was impressed with the standard shown by the competitors.

“The standard of fighting was excellent with even children as young as three years old showing how well they can fight,” he said.

The annual event has grown in size since last year’s installment, with over 300 competitors from dojos as far as Durban taking part.

This figure is double that of last year’s event.

Tebbutt’s Academy was represented by 45 members and Tebbutt said he was happy with their performances.

The Friday evening saw competitors competing in kata and weapons and then Saturday was full of action with kumite, points, continuous and full-contact fighting.

“The event was a great success and I am happy with all who competed,” said Tebbutt.
