Elsburg suffer home defeat

Elsburg Rugby Club faced Eden Park Rugby Club in a home match on Saturday afternoon, as part of the Kestrel League.

The Elsburg Rugby Club took to their home field, the Elspark Sports Grounds, on Saturday afternoon in the ongoing Kestrel League.

The team hosted the Eden Park Rugby Club, who walked away the victors of the hard-hitting match, winning 38-22.

Elsburg, in their newly sponsored kit from Pirelli Centurion, struggled to find their feet against the visitors despite a number of powerful plays in the second half, to the delight of the Elsburg spectators.

Eden Park applied continuous pressure throughout the match, keeping the club from claiming the win.

The club’s try scorers were Gordon Berry, Johan Volschenk and Peter Scheepers, with Rudie Wessels scoring the match’s conversions.

The club’s next match will be played at the Elspark Sports Grounds, on June 3, and will see the team tackling it out against Delmas Rugby Club.

The community is encouraged to come and support the home side.
