Don’t miss the track and field meeting

Head down to the Germiston Stadium and show your support for the local track and field athletes as they showcase their talents.

Central Gauteng Athletics (CGA) will kick-off the 2017 Track and Field season at the Germiston Stadium, on Saturday.

The season’s return has been eagerly awaited by coaches and athletes, who are seen delivering exceptional performances yearly.

The meeting will follow a full-day programme that will allow track and field athletes of all ages to participate.

Germiston Callies Harriers athletes will also be among those you can witness in action.

Kayla Gilbert, Lemuel Klaasen and Simone van der Nest are some of the local youngsters expected to participate at the meeting.

“We’re looking forward to a great turn out in numbers, seeing that it’s the first track and field event of the year,” said CGA’s Mandla Radebe.

“Athletes will be working towards being selected to represent their province and country at national and international championships, such as the 2017 World Championships that’ll be held in London later this year.”
