One win and one loss for Elsburg Eagles Cricket Club
Great cricket action was witnessed as Elsburg Eagles Cricket Club's two teams faced Kwa Thema Cricket Club and Thokoza Super Kings Cricket Club respectively.
The Elsburg Eagles Cricket Club faced the Kwa-Thema Cricket Club in their Promotion League match held at the Scaw Main Oval, in Dinwiddie, on Sunday.
The Eagles lost the toss and were sent in to bat.
They set a score of 184 runs for 10 wickets in their 50 overs, with the top batsman Billy Millar scoring 43 runs.
Kwa-Thema came in to bat and made the score, with only five wickets down, reaching 188 for five wickets.
Top bowler for the day was given to Jacques Jansen van Vuuren, after bowling seven overs and getting two wickets for 14 runs.
The Elsburg Eagles’ other team was simultaneously playing against the Thokoza Super Kings Cricket Club in their Presidents League match, held at the Elspark Cricket Club.
Thokoza batted first and set a score of 272 runs for 10 wickets in their 40 overs.
The Eagles’ Frans Louw bowled six overs for 44 runs and three wickets, while Darren van Tonder bowled seven overs for 48 runs for two wickets and Gerhard Herbst bowled six overs for 27 runs and two wickets.
The Eagles came in to bat and made the score in 35 overs, reaching 275 runs for the loss of eight wickets.
Top batting was witnessed from Frans Louw who scored 84 runs and Cristopher Coetzer with 79 runs.
Louw was the man of the match.
Eagles won with two wickets and went to the top of the log.
