Dojo thrilled with senior karatekas

Shin-Gi-Tai Karate Academy holds tough grading.

It was a time of excitement recently when the Shin-Gi-Tai Karate Academy (with dojos in Alberton and Germiston) held their national grading for senior karatekas.

Once again the standard was exceptionally high, with Jacqueline Keller achieving her fourth dan black belt, Henry Berry his third dan black belt, Rebecca Vinton her second dan black belt and Lynda Myburgh her first dan black belt; while Andre van Jaarsveld achieved his first kyu brown belt.

Earlier in the year, Nadia Calore (from the Germiston dojo) received her junior black belt at a special grading session; before attending the 18th Funakoshi Shotokan Karate Association (FSKA) World Championship, which was held in Mumbai (India) at the end of September.

Chief instructor sensei Llewellyn Oosthuizen congratulated all the senior karatekas on their splendid achievements, which was the result of years of hard work and dedication.
