Little ones get ready to race

Get ready for the annual Carnival City Macsteel Kiddies Cycle Races.

Young Germiston cyclists should prepare their bicycles and build up their stamina, because the Carnival City Macsteel Kiddies Cycle Races will hit the streets on November 5 and 6, at Carnival City.

This is the 32nd year that the Carnival City Macsteel National Classic Cycle Race will be held.

The main purpose of the race is to raise funds for charity, particularly in support of Germiston Rotary and Germiston Rotary Anns projects.

In addition, the event aims to further the development of amateur cycling in South Africa.

The first race on the calendar will be the children’s mountain bike race, on Saturday, November 5.

This 6km race is open to children and families and will start at 7am.

The main event will take place on Sunday, November 6.

The street race is open to children from two to eight years old, and registration will start at 7.30am, with the race starting at 9am.

The day will be filled with activities for the whole family and two lucky children stand the chance to win a new bicycle.

For more information, call the race offices on 082 376 0936 or 082 952 7176.
