Drifting action expected at the Rock Raceway

Catch the final of the Cambees Midas South African Drift Championships that are set to take place in October.

The final round of the Cambees Midas South African Drift Championships will get under way at the Rock Raceway circuit in Brakpan on October 1.

The drift judges will determine, among other things, who are the podium winners in the final drift lunge and who secures the ultimate drift title of the Cambees Midas South African Drift Championships in the Gold Cup Eliminations division.

Germiston’s Denis Palm is expected to be among the drifters at the championships.

“All is not lost for the competitors who do not qualify to take part in the Cambees Midas Drift Championship known as the Gold Cup Eliminations,” said Abie Sada, marketing manager and commentator at the Rock Raceway.

“A Silver Cup Eliminations event will ensure that they still get to compete in drifting and that they can still enjoy the sideways experience and walk off with some silverware in hand.

“The drift masters will try to impress the judges with their style, flair and sideways antics without losing the drift.”

Drifters from all over are expected to make their way to the circuit to take on the final round of the championships.

Supporters can make their way to the circuit from 10am when the gates open and witness a whole day’s practice session before the main event that will begin at 4pm.
