Eagles continue to improve their skills

The Elsburg Eagles Rugby Club travelled to Vereeniging to take part in the Vereeniging Rugby Club’s Junior Rugby Day.

The junior rugby season continued at the this weekend, with the Elsburg Eagles Rugby Club travelling to Vereeniging to take part in the Vereeniging Junior Rugby Day.

The club celebrated two wins this weekend, with teams facing opponents from Kempton Park, Bobbies, Springs and Vereeniging Rugby clubs.

“This weekend’s scores were a lot better and once again the players showed improvement, as a team and also as individuals,” said Tyron Smuts, club chairman.

Results for the day:

  •  U-7

Game 1: lost 0-12 against Kempton Park.

Game 2: lost 2-5 against Springs.

Game 3: lost 0-9 against Kempton Park.

  •  U-8

League Game: win 1-0 against Vereeniging.

  •  U-9

League game: lost 12-14 against Kempton Park.

  •  U-10

League game: lost 0-57 against Vereeniging.

  •  U-11

League game 1: lost 0-49 against Vereeniging.

League game 2: win 28-5 against Bobbies.

  •  U-13

League game: lost 0-53 against Vereeniging.

  •  U-18

Friendly game: lost 7-37 against Springs.

“Once again we thank our players for playing each match with so much passion, despite the disappointing results in some of the matches,” said Smuts.

The club will travel to Kempton Park on Saturday for their next set of matches.
