Eagles struggle to find their stride

The Elsburg Eagles Rugby Club travelled to Brakpan to take part in the Brakpan Rugby Club’s junior rugby day.

It was another disappointing weekend for the Elsburg Eagles Rugby Club when they travelled to Brakpan, on Saturday, for the Brakpan Rugby Club’s junior rugby day.

The Eagles faced off against teams from Kempton Park, Benoni, Boksburg, Delmas and Vereeniging, but walked away with only one win.

“Even though the results don’t look very impressive, our players are showing more and more skill each week, and that is our goal at the club,” said club chairman Tyron Smuts.

“We once again thank our players, as they played with so much passion, despite the disappointing results; they are all superstars.”

The results for the day:

Game 1: lost 0-11 against Kempton Park.

Game 2: drew 0-0 against Brakpan.

Game 1: won 14-0 against Delmas.

Game 2: lost 0-9 against Boksburg.

League game: lost 0-28 against Benoni.

League game: lost 0-52 against Benoni.

League game: lost 0-60 against Benoni.

League game: lost 0-46 against Benoni.

League game: lost 0-51 against Vereeniging.

The club will travel to Vereeniging on Saturday, for their next set of matches.
