The Elsburg Rugby Club’s, Elspark Sports Grounds’ home grounds were a hive of activity on Saturday afternoon as they faced Vanderbijlpark Rugby Club.
Despite their best efforts and cheers from the crowd of supporters, the team lost 43-27.
The fixture was part of the Kestrel League.
The home side seemed in control of the first half, heading into half-time three points ahead of their opponents.
The second half, however, belonged to the visitors and a few errors by the home side and a strong Vanderbijlpark attack only allowed Elsburg to put five more points on the score board.
The full-time score was Elsburg 27, Vanderbijlpark 43.
The try-scorers for Elsburg were Basjan du Preez, Gerald Pretorius and Eugene Scott.
Elsburg will face Meyerton Rugby Club in an away game, this Saturday, at 4pm.
