Narrow defeat for Luso

Luso Africa was narrowly defeated by the visiting Highlands Park in their Eastern Local Football Association’s (ELFA) Super League match.

The second round of the Eastern Local Football Association’s (ELFA) Super League fixtures began at the weekend, with Luso Africa facing the “Lions from the North”, Highlands Park FC.

The game was played at Luso’s Hattingh Park home grounds, on Saturday afternoon.

The gruelling match, which saw both side’s arguing with a number of the referee’s decisions, was narrowly won by the visitors.

The final score 4-3.

This came as a surprise as, though both teams were in top form, Luso seemed in control for most of the match.

The home side’s three goals were scored by Igor Ivanov, Leandro De Abreu and Fluvio Pereira.

Luso’s second team also faced a strong opponent and drew their match against Highlands Park FC 3-3.

The side will next face Kempton Park FC, in an away match, on Saturday.
